Motivation and main objective
Traditional business plans focus solely on profit obtained from a value proposition created for customers. This is increasingly inadequate as other stakeholders play a significant role in the value exchange, there are imperatives such as climate change and inequality that are impacting every kind of organization. Former attempts to add sustainability layers to business models are clearly not enough.
So there is a necessity of another way of designing new ventures where all stakeholders are considered from the beginning, where results are not only measured in financial statements, but on positive ambiental and social impact.
Our "Positive Impact Plan" project reimagines the business model to prioritize social, environmental, and economic sustainability while being profitable. Spearheaded by the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), this initiative seeks to replace the conventional business plan with a forward-thinking Positive Impact Plan (PIP).
Impact in socio-economic fabric
This proposal transforms the way entrepreneurs face their ventures, how businesses operate and it is also a crucial educational tool. Once validated by the open community, it may be implemented in business schools worldwide, encouraging students and future leaders to adopt impactful business strategies.
