Positive Evolutionary Psychology is an approach to human behavior that essentially marries the powerful scientific framework of evolutionary psychology with the forward-thinking field of positive psychology. Positive Psychology seeks to better understand and amplify the positives of the human experience using behavioral scientific methods. Evolutionary Psychology uses Darwin's basic ideas of evolution to shed light on all facets of behavior. Positive Evolutionary Psychology blends these fields by using evolutionarily informed scholarship to advance the goals of Positive Psychology. In doing so, work in this area seeks to shed light on positive behavioral and psychological outcomes at the individual, community, and societal levels. This site is designed as a hub for information in this field, ideally to help students and researchers who have interest in this area to share ideas, develop collaborations, and advance our understanding of the positives of the human experience by employing evolutionary principles.
This site is a branch of the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society (AEPS). Their website, with more information and links to other evolutionarily informed disciplines, can be found here.
