At POSITIVE 𓁹WEAR, we hold this Truth close to our hearts and as our Mission. We recognize that a lack of awareness about the extraordinary contributions of African people to Global civilization shapes a similar reality in the World today.

It is troubling to witness efforts by current social polices to suppress the teaching of African history - especially any teachings which illuminate the realities of oppression and poverty faced by Melanated people in this country and to this day. These TRUTHS are being silenced in our public schools and communities, presenting a limited outlook for Youth and their families - struggling to live productively and in a Beneficial way for each other.

How often do we pause to consider the deep effects of having lost our Original languages, Cultures, and Spiritual traditions as a result of the Transatlantic Slave Trade? More focus is placed on our recent history as an enslaved people in America while attempting to maintain the social structures which help perpetuate that status. Instead, much effort is spent to crush any portrayal which highlights the brilliance of our Ancient civilizations and the undeniable fact that it was the African scholars who taught the more primitive Europeans advanced Earth sciences, Engineering and Mathematics - along with Fine Arts - which have underpinned all Great Societies since.

Imagine the impact if our children learned early about the full richness of their Heritage. What if they knew that their ancestor, Mansa Musa of MALI (W. Africa), was a prolific trader of Gold and is regarded as THE Wealthiest individual in Ancient World history (and perhaps of all Time!) Also consider Hannibal of Carthage (Tunisia in N. Africa), a military general and strategist who stood against the most oppressive War campaigns of his Time! And that Imhotep of Egypt, now recognized as the “Founder of Modern Medicine” - was a known fore-father of Spiritual Healing practices?
