Poshan Saathi ("the App") is developed as an independent offline tool to assist Anganwadi Workers, health workers, and parents in monitoring child growth, calculating Body Mass Index (BMI), and tracking nutritional metrics based on standard WHO guidelines.
This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles user data and information.
1.1. No Server-Side Data Collection:
The App is designed as an "offline-first" utility. We DO NOT collect, store, upload, transmit, or share any personal data, health statistics, or sensitive information to any external servers or third parties.
1.2. Local Storage Only:
All data entered into the App (including names of beneficiaries, dates of birth, weight, height, gender, pregnancy status, and Anganwadi Centre profiles) is stored locally and securely on your own device using Android's internal Room SQLite database and SharedPreferences.
1.3. Device Permissions:
The App may require the following permissions to function correctly:
- Storage / Files (Read/Write): Required solely to export beneficiary growth reports and database backups in PDF or JSON format to your device's local storage.
- Camera: Used only if you choose to take a profile picture of a beneficiary, which is stored locally on the device.
The App deals with nutritional calculations for children (0 to 5 years). However, the App does not collect data directly from children. The App is intended for adult users (Anganwadi workers, supervisors, parents, or guardians) who manually input data to track child growth metrics. No children's data is shared or sent over the internet.
The App does not use any third-party SDKs, tracking tools, or advertisement networks that collect or share user identity or location data.
Poshan Saathi is an independent, private tool. It is NOT an official app of the Government of India, ICDS, Ministry of Women and Child Development, or any state government body. It does not access, synchronize with, or modify any official government databases or portals (such as the official Poshan Tracker portal).
Because all your data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security. If you uninstall the App or factory reset your phone, all local data within the App will be permanently deleted unless you have exported a manual JSON backup file.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
