Volunteer
A successful Track & Field program requires full family participation.
Track & Field is the largest program at Portola High School. This means that we need help from our families to make the year successful. The volunteer opportunities offered differ in time and energy to suit the needs and schedules of our Track & Field families. The volunteer descriptions below provide a guide to what areas you can contribute to.

Volunteer Descriptions
𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬
At home meets in March/April
Support field events- measuring and recording data.
Training provided.
Best seat in the house!
2-3 hours per shift.
𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
At-home meets in March
Set-up/Clean-up equipment
2-3 hours per shift.
𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲, 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨, & 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚
March-May: take pictures or videos at meets and upload to Track's photo album.
These may be action shots or capturing that special moment.
Minimum requirement is a dedicated camera (not a smart phone) capable of 5 frames/sec
Photographers should be in good physical condition as our events are located throughout the Track and a fair bit of walking will be required.

𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐫 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
At-home meets in March/April
Multiple positions to choose from: set-up/clean-up, cashier, food service, grill/cook.
Orientation and training provided
Time commitment- 2-3 hours per shift. Plenty of opportunities to step away to watch your athlete in action.
𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝s 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲
Held in May
Set-up/clean-up, pick-up food items, coordinating Coaches' gifts.
Meetings may be in person or virtual.
About 2-3 hours in total.
Graphics and Website support
Design, update and print menus for the snack bar, maintaining the Track website
Flexible schedule
Community Outreach and Fundraising
Jan- May: communicate and establish relationships with community vendors.
