The Data Maker Júnior Project is all about building a data-driven culture right within our schools. It was created by Marciel Rocha during the Google Innovator Brazil 2024 program, with mentorship from Eliane Moller.
The project started with one big question: How can we empower our entire school community—students, educators, and leaders—to take the lead in making decisions with data?
We're thrilled to share that this project was selected for presentation at the ISTE 2025 international conference.

The project’s name tells you everything you need to know about our philosophy. It’s built on four pillars:
Data: A focus on data literacy.
Maker: A hands-on, "learning by doing" approach.
Júnior: Inspired by the junior enterprise model, where students learn management and entrepreneurship.
Project: Because every activity is a formal project with a clear beginning, middle, and end, teaching management and organization.
This project is so relevant today because it addresses key needs: the high demand for data specialists in the job market, the push to turn students from tech consumers into tech creators, and its perfect alignment with modern high school curriculum goals.
