Dr. Mohammad Furqan Ali working as an assistant professor and associated with the Universidade Lusofona-Centro Universitario de Lisbon, Portugal. Most recently, he has collaborated research with the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa, and the Universite Euro-Meiderraneenne de Fes, Morocco. Previously, he served as a research engineer at the Centro de Investigacao em Tecnologias - Autonoma TechLab, Universidade Autonoma de Lisboa, Portugal. From 2019 to 2022, he was a research engineer at the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia and the University of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Sri Lanka. In 2020, he has shared his research initiation with the NIT Trichy, under the Scheme for Promotion of Academic & Research and Collaboration (SPARC) in India. During the year of 2022-23, he was a recipient of the top 50 scientific initiators and researchers who significantly contributed to advancing the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University propelling it to new heights in the scientific arena. He has awarded the Ph.D. degree with distinction and Honor from the Universide Lusofona. While pursuing his Ph.D., he was honored as the best Ph.D. student across the entire university and received a medal for his exceptional achievements in his research area. He also holds an M.Sc. degree with Distinction and a Gold Medal from the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University Russia awarded in 2018, and a B.Tech degree obtained in 2013 from UP Technical University, Lucknow, India. His current research interests encompass optical communication, Underwater Visible Light Communication (UVLC), 5G and beyond (5GB) wireless networks, the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUTs), hybrid-cooperative communication, and multi-hop underwater wireless communications.
