The Three Labours of Hercules
The Three Labours of Hercules
Three Labors of Hercules depicts the greek myth of the same name: the slaying of the Nemean Lion, the wrestling of Antaeus, and the battle with the Lernean Hydra. The purpose and early history of the drawing are unknown. It seems to have had no preparatory function; given the degree of cogitation and finish of the drawing, it was presumably made as a gift for a friend.
