Ever since I was a kid, teaching has been special to me. In fact, looking back at my childhood memories, I always acted as the teacher every time we played together with my cousins. I can still feel the happiness inside of me, reminiscing about those good memories. Who knows, I'm slowly turning my "teacher" role back then into a reality.
My field study 2 experience was challenging yet fulfilling compared to the observations I only had during my field study 1. It was challenging in that I had to accomplish daily lesson plans and, at the same time, create instructional materials for the lesson, and I had to do this every single day of the week. It was then I realized how tiring it was to be a teacher. Nevertheless, it was also a fulfilling moment for me every time I diligently managed the time and finished the task on time. Although cramming was still a part of it, I could do the task, and I'm so proud of myself for that.
I learned a lot of things as an aspiring educator in the entirety of my Field Study 2 experience. I understood the realities inside the classroom and how students behave. I learned that making good connections with your students is crucial to promoting inclusivity, acceptance, and a sense of trust. Knowing their learning preferences and needs must also be one of the essential things to consider. I learned this during the series of demonstration teaching sessions, and I integrated various learning activities to address the different learning preferences of each student. Integrating various engaging activities not only considers their learning preferences but also boosts their learning interests and motivates them to participate actively in the discussion.
My demonstration teachings were also successful, and I am overwhelmed with the feedback and results. Not enough words can express how grateful I am to everyone who has helped me throughout, before, during, and after.
After settling everything at our resource school, we diverted our priorities and made our Classroom-Based Action Research (CBAR) Proposal. The following weeks after the demonstration teaching, we had our CBAR Proposal Hearing. It was also a success, thanks to our panelists for their valuable advice and suggestions. We are so thankful, especially to our instructor, for allowing us this kind of learning experience.
This is not yet the end, but it is a step closer to the dream I've been chasing for years. Here's to more challenging yet exciting and never-ending learning experiences. I will forever treasure these memories. Indeed, this is what it feels like to pursue a profession considered the strongest pillar of society.
