A: Duty prices vary as the duty is dependent on engine's cc rating, vehicle purchase cost, CIF value etc.

Q: What is a detention notice?

A: This is a notice issued by customs agency indicating that goods on the port have been indefinately detained pending further pertitent information, documentation or otherwise to duly satisfy the inpecting customs officer.

Q: How Long will my vehicle take to arrive from Japan?

A: Vehicles imported from Japan utilizes a RoRo vessel, simply meaning a Roll On-Roll Off vessel. Typically a vessel will take approximately 6 weeks depending on whether there are additional port stops example in Panama.

Q: I was told my items got marked up, what does that mean?

A: "Mark Up" is an increase added to the value of imported item by customs officer during the valuation process. Generally in this case the valuation process being used is one of "Similar Value" if this situation occurs it is imperative to provide ALL substaniating proof of purchase price of goods being imported.
