Porscha Aubrey

About

Yes, I'm well aware that I am terrible at graphic design and my portfolio website is not pleasing to the eye, but this is the best I could do for the time being.

Anyway, now onto who I am. My name is Porscha Anne Aubrey, I am a published author, podcaster, freelancer, scriptwriter, and stressed out teenager. I've been writing my entire life but decided to actually write and finished an entire novel back in 9th grade, when I was 14. It took me a few months and getting in trouble several times for writing during class instead of paying attention and doing my work, but I managed to finished 'Deathchill'. Then I promptly moved onto the second novel within the Deathchill trilogy, 'Flamerip'. Which took me a bit more time to write and a few writers blocks as well that lasted over a month, but I finished it and started formatting it like a proper novel. Afterwards, I started Arcticblaze, and it was one of my proudest works by the very first chapter. After finishing the series, I started planning on writing a new one, however, my mind was still set on the Deathchill world, so it took me a while to move on. Though I did end up going through and editing the Deathchill novel, which was definitely a good idea because it. Was. Horrible. There were multiple times that I didn't even understand what I was trying to say. After finishing editing, I finally got myself a bank account a few months later and got to publish it on November 5th 2021, two months after that I published 'Flamerip' and two months after that I published 'Arcticblaze'. All available on Amazon, and the last two also available on Kobo.

After finishing editing the Deathchill series, I then moved onto a new series. It was going to be called 'West Nation Vs. East Nation'. It was going to be about a Minecraft realm that my friends' and I started that had war and a ton of lore within it. My friends were happy that I was writing it and asked me about it regularly. In fact, it was originally going to be a collaborative work between myself and another friend in the group that enjoys to write, though that quickly came to an end because he doesn't format/plan things out the same as me, so I ended up taking over. Although after a bit of writing, I ended up getting hit by a car and became unable to write anything for a while. My friends were supportive of me and told me to not worry about it, so I had to put it on hold and was happy that they weren't upset. But after a bit, I was happy that I wasn't working on it, because writing out everything that happened and how I was treated constantly brought out bad memories and made me hate the group. Once my wrist was better I tried to write out the novel more, but didn't enjoy it at all. My friends would constantly ask me when I'll be writing the next chapter, even though they don't even read them, and whenever I would release another chapter they would say it was terrible and that they could do better. So, really, I'm happy I'm not working on that series anymore, sure, it would've been an amazing series, but if it makes me not want to write or talk to anyone, not to mention the strain it puts on my friendships, it's better to not be written.

So, I started writing a new series, my current work in progress. 'Shrouded Personas' originally named 'Drawn Blades'. Much like with 'West Nation Vs. East Nation' this series is also planned to be 8-books long, all of which is over 100,000 words. It features the main character, Timber Narissara, who is an assassin, and so far I am enjoying writing about her since she is strong, independent, and badass.

Aside from novel writing, I've also written multiple short stories, primarily for contests that are typically held on Instagram. I've won a few as well, which was definitely a good boost for my confidence since I rarely get compliments about my writing, nor do people really read my writing.

Then there's script writing. I written multiple short scripts throughout the years for classes, one of which that I have a faint memory of was back in seventh grade and involved a graveyard and was a horror. Though I do know that my entire group didn't really try in preparation, in fact we had to do it during lunch because my group mates refused to do it in front of class, nor did they ever remember to bring in their respective props. I also remember that I got a 3- on that assignment when all of my other group mates got 1s and 2s, it was mainly because I did all of the work and I also put the most energy into my acting. But now I'm writing longer and more in depth scripts, one was for DramaFest that my class participated in and the other was for an end of the year assignment. Both of which are available in the 'Scripts' section on this site.

So, there are my works and here is my portfolio. I wanted to try and have it on my actual website but sadly either Wordpress doesn't have the tools to design the site the way I'd like it to be, or I just don't know what to look for. Which means that I had to create an entirely new site for it, maybe at some point I'll hire someone to edit my site for me to fix the Portfolio section on it, or maybe have them toy around with this one to make it more pleasing to the eye, but for now, this is what I got.
