Overview

Popup Bookmarks / 书签弹窗 ("the Extension") helps you browse your Chrome bookmarks in a popup tree and configure how bookmarks open. We respect your privacy.

Data Collection

The Extension does not collect, upload, sell, or share personal data.

The Extension does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and it does not send tracking requests to external servers.

Local Access (For Functionality Only)

To provide core features, the Extension accesses/uses the following data locally in your browser:

Bookmarks data: read via the Chrome Bookmarks API to render the bookmark tree and open bookmarks when you click.

Favicons: displayed in the list using Chrome's built-in favicon cache capability. The Extension does not upload your browsing data to any third-party favicon service.

Storage

The Extension stores a small amount of data in Chrome storage:

chrome.storage.sync: to store your preferences (e.g., open behavior, theme). Sync behavior is controlled by Chrome and your Google account settings.

chrome.storage.local: to store UI state (e.g., expanded/collapsed folders) on the current device.

The Extension does not store your data on any developer-owned server.

Sharing and Disclosure

The Extension does not share data with third parties. We do not sell or rent your data.

If required by law, we will comply with valid legal requests. However, the Extension itself does not maintain server-side user data.

Permissions Explanation

bookmarks: read your bookmarks to display the tree.

tabs: open bookmarks in the current tab or create a new tab, based on your setting.

storage: save your preferences and UI state.

favicon: display site icons (favicons) in the list.

Data Retention and Deletion

Settings and UI state remain in your browser until you change them, clear extension data/sync data, or uninstall the Extension (Chrome typically removes the Extension's local storage on uninstall).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" will reflect the latest version.
