History

Towers Development ('88-'90)

Popstar Games started in 1988 as a subsidiary of Towers Music which was beginning development on a music generation software that ultimately got canceled in 1990.

TOWERSDEV.CO ('91-'92)

In 1991, the team made a website called TOWERSDEV.CO and shared the beta versions of the abandoned project, and access to some new projects. This led to them being sued by Towers Music for violating an NDA they signed at the beginning of the project. The website was shut down in 1992.

Popstar Development ('93)

The team rebranded the company with a new name and coat of paint in 1993. This later became Popstar South. This logo was short-lived as they turned more towards publication.

Popstar Games ('94-'95)

In 1994, they changed to the name we all know and love today. This revision lasted until 1995.

Popstar Games ('96-now)

In 1996, we got the iconic logos and fonts that have stuck even to this day. This also created Popstar South for development exclusively, as opposed to having the two work as one company.
