I studied Biological Sciences for my BA at the University of Oxford (2011-14). After teaching secondary school Biology for a few years I studied for a MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London (2017/18). In 2019 I moved to Vienna to begin a PhD at the Messerli Research Institute in the field of Comparative Cognition (finishing soon!).
It has been an absolute joy to work with some incredible animals these past years. I have investigated learning and causal reasoning, and also aspects of innovation. With my PhD work specifically I have tried to find out if and how birds and primates process and use weight information differently, perhaps reflecting a difference in their lifestyles.
I also love radio and podcasts. I have spent some time during my PhD working on animal behaviour and biology podcasts, first as a content editor and now as a host.
