My name, Poom, is a Thai pronunciation of the Sanskrit word भुमि (Bhumi) which means the Earth, or more precisely the Mother Earth.
As a Thai of 100% Chinese descent, I also have a Chinese name 蔡汉成 (Mandarin: Cai Han Cheng, Teochew: Chau Hang Seng). However, I only speak Thai and English.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading books and watching movies. I sometimes share my thoughts (in Thai) on my Blockdit page.
My short story, ปัญญาปกรณัม, was awarded an honorable mention in the National Science Museum’s Science Fiction Short Story Competition 2018. It was published in a book. Also, here is my other attempt at writing a short story. I am not very good at it, though.
I wrote an article for คณิตศาสตร์อย่างที่ควรจะเป็น (Math as It Is) on Morse theory for general audiences (in Thai) here.

I visited this beautiful small island country twice in 2014. The first time was the first flight of my life and was also my first time traveling internationally. The flight from Bangkok took 2 hours. I attended the 2014 Raffle Institution Mathematical Olympiad and received a bronze medal. The best part was, of course, the free days during which I had a chance to explore the city. The second time, I joined an exchange program for a joint high school mathematics project with students from NJC. The project's field was graph theory.
Fun Fact: Singapore is the English name of Singapura or the city (pura) of Lion (Singa). Hence the country's symbol is the Merlion. Like many Southeast Asian cities, the name Singapura was derived from Sanskrit. In fact, there is a city of (almost) the same name in Thailand, Singburi. A Thai beer brand Singha is also derived from the same word.
