PoofCam is a temporary photo and note app. Your content stays on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud storage, or backend servers for your photos or notes.
This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your choices.
We do not collect, store, or transmit to our servers:
Your name, email, or phone number (no registration)
Your photos, notes, or gallery content
Your contacts or address book
Your precise location (photo location metadata is not accessed; isAccessMediaLocationEnabled is disabled)
We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or marketing SDKs beyond advertising (see Section 6).
The following stays only on your device:
Data
Purpose
Photos you capture or import
Stored in the app’s private storage until they expire or you delete them
Text notes
Stored locally with your items
Item metadata
Titles, duration timers, expiry dates, to-do status
App settings
Theme, default duration, lock timeout, notification preferences
Recently Deleted items
Kept for a period you configure, then permanently removed
Metadata is saved using local device storage (AsyncStorage). Image files are saved in the app’s document directory.
Used only when you take a photo inside PoofCam. We do not record in the background.
Used only when you choose to import a photo from your library.
Used only when you tap an action to save an item permanently to your system photo library. PoofCam does not automatically save captures to your camera roll.
Optional app lock. Authentication is handled by your device’s operating system. We do not receive or store your biometric data.
Optional reminders before an item is about to expire. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not send push notifications from a remote server.
When you use Share, your chosen content is sent through your device’s standard share sheet to apps you select. We do not control those third-party apps.
PoofCam is designed for temporary content. Items may be automatically deleted when:
Their timer expires (e.g. 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days)
You delete them manually
You clear Recently Deleted after the retention period you set
You mark a to-do item as done (if that duration mode is selected)
Deleted content is removed from the app’s local storage. Content already saved to your system photo library remains there until you delete it in Photos.
PoofCam is free and shows ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK).
Depending on your device and choices, Google may collect or process:
Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
Device and app interaction data related to ad delivery
IP address (typically processed by Google for ad serving)
On iOS, we ask permission before using data for cross-app tracking. If you decline, ads may still appear but may be less personalized (non-personalized ads may be requested).
Google may use the Android Advertising ID according to your device settings and Google’s policies.
Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Ads / AdMob information: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (e.g. iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
PoofCam is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will assist with removal on the device.
Your content is stored locally on your device and protected by your device’s security (passcode, biometrics, encryption). No method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device.
You can:
Deny or revoke Camera, Photos, Notifications, or Tracking permissions in system settings (some features may not work)
Enable or disable app lock, notifications, and deletion reminders in PoofCam Settings
Delete items manually or clear all data by removing the app from your device
Opt out of personalized ads via iOS Tracking settings or Android Advertising ID settings
Uninstalling the app removes PoofCam’s local data from your device (except content you saved to the system photo library).
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or other regions with privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not operate accounts or store your content on our servers, most data is under your control on your device. For advertising-related processing by Google, refer to Google’s policies and your device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
