Training Materials

Purchase high quality, handcrafted, wooden practice gear made to standard specifications and manufactured for typical Aikido training with contact. 

All items are manufactured by a skilled carpenter using  Kaliamaruthu / Marutham (Terminalia elliptica) wood, which is a dense, durable hardwood native to India. Hence, all items will have the typical colour of the material: rich, deep brown with dark streaks and fine, striking grain patterns (irrespective of the representative photographs below). By default the items will be varnished.

• Bokken: wooden Japanese sword / katana

• Wakizashi: wooden short-sword

• Tanto: wooden knife

Expect minor variability in dimensions since each item is crafted by hand.
