Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026
This policy explains what the PollsConnect mobile app (org.ji.elections, available on the App Store and Google Play) knows about you, what it cannot know, and what is done with it.
PollsConnect is a private app used to run an organisation's own internal elections. It is not a public service and is not open to the general public: you can use it only if an admin has entered you on the organisation's membership register. Throughout this policy, "the admin" means whoever administers that organisation's election — its own members, acting for the organisation. The admin is not a government body and not any election commission.
Questions about this policy, or about the app itself: janjuamoin9@gmail.com.
For anything about your own membership record — a correction, or removal from the register — contact your admin directly. The register belongs to the organisation, not to the app.
PollsConnect does not represent a government entity. It is a private app used by a private membership organisation to elect its own office-holders, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any government, any election commission, or any other public authority.
The app publishes no government information of any kind — no voter records, no official electoral rolls, no official constituencies, no polling stations, and no results of any public election. The register inside it is the organisation's own list of its own members, and every result it shows is internal to the organisation and carries no legal standing.
For anything to do with a public election — registering as a voter, checking a voter record, or an official result — go to the relevant election authority directly. This app is not a source for it and does not claim to be.
The app is for internal elections only, and your information is used for nothing else.
Your ballot cannot be traced back to you — not by an admin, not by whoever exports the database, not by the people who built the app.
There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
Nothing about you is sold, and nothing is shared with any third party except the service providers listed below, which store the data on the organisation's behalf.
The app never asks for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Your membership record is created by an admin when you are added to the register. You do not enter it yourself. Depending on what the admin has recorded, it may include:
your name and your father's name;
your membership number;
your registered mobile number, and a second mobile number if an admin has recorded one;
your district and Halqa, and where recorded, your region, constituency, union council, ward, village or city. These are the organisation's own internal groupings of its members, named after the places those members live in. They are not official electoral units, and no official delimitation or government record is used to define them;
your designation within the organisation, and your membership status;
and, where an admin has recorded them: your CNIC number, date of birth, gender, permanent and current address, and educational qualification.
The app shows this record to you and to authorised admins. You cannot see any other member's record.
A password, which you choose when you claim your account. It is held by Google Firebase Authentication and is never visible to any admin or to anyone else — not even in order to reset it. If you forget it, the admin releases the login and you register again.
An email address, only if you choose to give one. It is used for notices, never for signing in.
A request to join, if you are not yet on the register. This records the details you submit so the admin can decide on it.
Admins using the administrative console additionally have an account email and a two-factor authentication secret held for their sign-in.
When you vote, the app writes two separate records in a single step:
one counts the vote against the candidate and names nobody;
the other records that you voted and names no candidate.
Nothing joins them. There is no key, no timestamp pairing and no export that can put them back together. Your receipt is your proof that you voted; it is kept only on your phone and says nothing about who you chose.
Published results show each candidate's finishing position only. Members are shown the district's total number of ballots, never an individual candidate's vote count.
Only your sign-in session, your language choice, and your vote receipts. This is stored in the app's own private storage on your device, is not readable by other apps, and is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
Solely to run the organisation's internal elections: to confirm you are entitled to vote, to show you the right ballot for your district, to make sure each member votes once, and to publish results. It is used for no other purpose.
It carries no advertising, and performs no tracking, profiling or analytics. It does not ask for your location, your contacts, your photos, your camera or your microphone. It does not read your messages or your call history. Nothing about you is sold or rented to anyone, ever, and nothing is shared for advertising or marketing.
Google (Firebase) stores the data as a processor, acting on the admin's instructions. Specifically Cloud Firestore (the register, contests and results) and Firebase Authentication (your sign-in credentials).
Expo (Expo Application Services) delivers app updates. When the app checks for an update it contacts Expo's update service, which receives the app version and your device platform in order to serve the correct update. No membership data and no ballot data is sent to Expo.
Apple and Google operate the App Store and Google Play, and provide anonymous, aggregated installation statistics that identify no individual.
Beyond these, your information is not shared with anyone outside the organisation. It would be disclosed only where there was a legal obligation to do so.
On Google Firebase infrastructure in the asia-south1 region (Mumbai, India). By using the app you understand that your information is stored there.
Your membership record is kept for as long as you are on the organisation's register. It is the organisation's own record of its membership and exists independently of this app.
Your login is kept until you delete it, or until an admin releases it.
Ballots and results are kept as a permanent record of each election. Because ballots are anonymous, no ballot can be identified as yours in order to be removed.
Data on your phone lasts only until you sign out or uninstall.
You can delete your login at any time from within the app: open Account and settings → Delete your account. It is deleted immediately, along with your password and your email address.
Your membership record remains in the register. The register is the organisation's own record of its membership rather than something you created in this app, so deleting your app login does not remove you from it. To be removed from the register itself, or to have your record corrected, contact your admin — please give your name and membership number.
If you cannot reach your admin, or you need help with a deletion request, write to janjuamoin9@gmail.com and it will be passed on.
Because ballots are anonymous by design, a cast ballot cannot be withdrawn or deleted after it is sealed.
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; no admin sees or stores your password. Access to the register is enforced by server-side security rules and by functions running on the server, not by the app on your phone: a member may read their own record and no other. Administrative accounts require two-factor authentication.
No system is perfect, and no claim is made otherwise. If you believe your account has been misused, contact your admin immediately.
The app is for members of the organisation and is not directed at children. Accounts are not knowingly created for children, and the app carries nothing aimed at them.
You may ask to see what is held about you, to have anything wrong corrected, and to delete your app login. Requests about your membership record go to your admin. Requests about the app itself go to janjuamoin9@gmail.com.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date, and the notice inside the app will be updated to match.
