Hermes is a local PGP key management application for Android. We believe that privacy is a fundamental human right, and our application is designed to operate under the principle of Zero Data Collection.
Hermes does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, usage data, or cryptographic material on any external servers.
We do not use trackers, cookies, or analytics SDKs.
We do not have access to your private keys, messages, or identities.
All cryptographic operations (key generation, encryption, decryption, signing, and verification) are performed strictly on-device.
Private Keys: Are stored securely using the Android Keystore system.
Temporary Data: Payloads being processed are held in volatile memory and are not persisted in plain text.
Permissions: The app may request access to your device's storage only to import or export .asc or .gpg files as explicitly directed by you.
Hermes does not integrate with any third-party services, cloud providers, or advertising networks. There is no backend infrastructure associated with the app that could capture your data.
While Hermes provides robust PGP implementation via Bouncy Castle, the ultimate security of your keys depends on the physical security of your Android device and the strength of your device's lock screen/biometrics. We recommend following industry best practices for mobile security.
Since we do not collect any data, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 (or any other age group).
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Since we do not have your contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
