Flu-like symptoms are common in 1 out of 4 people infected. They include sore throat, fever, tiredness, nausea, headache, and stomach pain. These symptoms usually last 2 to 5 days. The majority of people infected are asymptomatic. (CDC 2024). In severe infections it can develop into Meningitis and Paralysis or weakness in the arms and/or legs (Central Nervous System-CNS infiltration).
