Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Mossmark: Book Tracker.
xSoft Global built Mossmark: Book Tracker as a mobile application for iOS. This SERVICE is provided by xSoft Global and is intended for use as is. The app is free to download and offers paid subscription plans that unlock additional features.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how Mossmark: Book Tracker ("Mossmark", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our iOS application. By using Mossmark, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Mossmark keeps your bookshelf and reading history on your device. We do not require an account, we do not collect the books you track or the notes you write, and we do not sell your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Mossmark: Book Tracker (the "App") uses, why, and the choices you have. The App is provided by XSoft ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
No account required. You do not need to create an account, sign in, or give us your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
Your library and reading data. The books you add, your reading progress, notes, and other content you enter in the App are stored on your device. We do not receive or read this content.
App settings. Basic settings, such as theme and reminder time, are stored only on your device so the App can remember them. They are not sent to us.
Information from third-party services. The App uses a small number of third-party services for purchases, analytics, crash reporting, and, with your permission, advertising measurement. These services may collect limited technical information when your device is online, as described in Sections 3 to 5.
2. Device Permissions
The App asks for each permission below only when needed. Both are optional.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, the App can send reminders you set, such as a daily reading reminder. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and their content is not sent to us.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT). The App may ask for permission to track your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you tap "Allow," we and our measurement partners, such as Google Analytics for Firebase, may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to measure how our marketing campaigns perform, for example, which ad led you to install the App. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track," we do not access your IDFA or track you across other companies' apps and websites. The App works the same either way.
Changing permissions. You can change these permissions at any time in Settings > Notifications > Mossmark and in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Location. The App does not request access to your device's location services and does not track your location.
3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App offers optional paid features through Apple in-app purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account.
We never receive or store your credit card number, bank details, or billing address. Through Apple's StoreKit, we receive only the transaction and subscription status needed to unlock paid features and restore your purchases on a new or reinstalled device.
You can view, manage, or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple Account subscription settings. For how Apple handles payment information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Analytics and Crash Reports
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. When your device is online, these services may collect:
device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings;
approximate region derived from your IP address;
screens opened, features used, and session length;
a pseudonymous app instance identifier;
crash logs, including the date, time, and technical state of the App when an error happened.
This information does not include the books you track or the notes you write. We use it only to fix problems and improve the App. We do not link it to your identity, and we use it for advertising measurement only if you allow tracking (see Section 2).
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with the following providers to run the App. They may process limited information only to perform services for us and are not allowed to use it for other purposes.
Apple (App Store, StoreKit)
Google Analytics for Firebase
Firebase Crashlytics
Selling, ads, and tracking. We do not sell your personal information, and the App does not show ads. We track your activity across other companies' apps and websites only if you allow it through App Tracking Transparency. You can change that choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
On your device. Your library, reading data, and settings stay on your device until you delete the App, which removes them.
Analytics and crash data. Firebase keeps this data under its own retention settings.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.
EEA and UK residents have these rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. If you allowed tracking, you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
International transfers. Our service providers, including Google and Apple, may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for a general audience but is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Links to Other Sites
The App may contain links to third-party websites. We do not operate these sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before sharing any information with them.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App or on our website. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice, such as an in-app message.
