The Vienna Workshop "The Political Economy of the Environment" is a two-day workshop that aims to connect researchers whose works lie at the intersection of political economy and environmental economics. The workshop will take place on February 14-15, 2025 in Vienna at the building of the University of Vienna's Economics Department (Oskar-Morgenstern Platz 1, 1090 Vienna). The preliminary list of keynote speakers includes Rick van der Ploeg (University of Oxford), Till Requate (University of Kiel), and Yacov Tsur (Hebrew University of Jerusalem). There will be no parallel sessions.
If you want to present, please send your paper to poleconenv2025@gmail.com before October 15, 2024. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by November 15, 2024. If you want to attend without presenting, please let us know before December 15, 2024. There are no registration fees. We are inviting submissions of both theoretical and empirical papers.
The workshop is organized by Alexandra Brausmann, Andrei Kalk, and Gerhard Sorger (all from the University of Vienna).
