Note: Pokemon Aetherium does not use dA points as a currency. All in group purchases/trades are made with the in-game currency, earned through submissions/other participation. RMT (real money trades) are heavily discouraged, and may result in consequences.
The primary currency in the land of Aetherium is the Tetra. The Tetra is a small circular coin with a circular hole punched in the center, coming in a variety of sizes and colors representing different amounts. While the coinage in the far past was made from gold or gold leaf over other metals, modern Tetras are made from a special material created by the Alchemist's Guild. The name of the coin comes from its traditional decoration: four words printed over some manner of imagery. Historian's claim that there was originally a single four word phrase that was printed on all Tetras, but if such a phrase existed it has long since been lost.
The Aether treated substance that makes up modern Tetras is resilient and has a peculiar sparkle that can not be replicated via other means, making counterfeiting nearly impossible. The most common colorations are a bronze, silver, and gold color. The secrets of creating this substance are known only to the Aetherists, and are one of their most closely guarded secrets. Due to this, any group that can afford it has been allowed to print their own patterns onto Tetras for distribution. A specialized press must be purchased from the Alchemist's Guild, as well as the blank coins to be patterned. Once they are in possession of a press and a set of blanks, groups can create whatever patterns they like. Said currency is entirely legitimate, and as such the coinage in Aetherium is covered a rich blend of imagery and ideas. Nearly all coinage has a four word phrase printed thereon, but every group of coins has a different phrase of some meaning to the creators.
Currency in Pokemon Aetherium is earned through group participation. The primary way to gain Tetras is by creating Submissions and submitting them to the group. A single "Roll" is worth 6-10 Tetras, at random. The number of rolls earned per given portion of a submission is as follows:
Fullbody - 4 Rolls
Partial - 2 Rolls
Headshot - 1 Roll
Elaborate BG - 5 Rolls
Detailed BG - 3 Rolls
Simple BG - 1 Roll
Shading - 2 Rolls
Color - 1 Roll
Finished Art is worth full rolls
Sketched Art is worth 1/4 rolls, rounded up
Writing is worth 1 roll per 125 words
With correct Spelling + Grammar, Writing is worth 1 roll per 100 words
For more detailed descriptions of the requirements for a given portion of a Submission, see the Submissions Page
In addition, the number of Tetras will be modified for Collaborative images done by more than one player. While each individual will receive fewer Tetras than they would have had they created the entire submission on their own, the overall number of Tetras will be higher. Each participating player will receive Tetras based on the following formula:
Tetras = (Base Tetras) * (1 + Number of players) / (1 + (2 * Number of Players))
