The developers chose to call the game Platinum because of their observations that diamond has a "meaning of love", while pearl has a "meaning of happiness". They explained that they wanted to choose something that seems "beautiful", describing platinum as "different from a diamond, different from a gem, different from a pearl, different from something that nature creates, something [that] shines, something beautiful." They also created the story to be different from Diamond and Pearl, commenting that they wanted to make Giratina seem "more fun, more interesting, cooler." They added Giratina's new area to make the story "more appealing". While Diamond and Pearl had Gym Leaders who sometimes had Pokmon not in keeping with the type they focus on, Platinum changes this by expanding the Sinnoh Pokdex so that all Pokmon belonging to Gym Leaders were the appropriate type, as well as giving players earlier access to several new evolutions of older Pokmon, many of which were originally only obtainable after beating the Champion.[10]

Hey, no matter what key I assign the start button to, I can't use it. I downloaded 9.4 binary for windows. I'm trying to play pokemon platinum on a dell xps with vista. The comp is brand new so i don't think it should be my computer. I can play the game fine, just can't get to the in game start menu which is a minor annoyance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for my bad spelling.

you know whats weird. ive never heard this complaint before, but ive heard general complaints about the start button, and general complaints about buttons in pokemon. hmmm. but those i can never reproduce.

So, whenever I play Pokemon Platinum, it doesn't allow me to open the main menu so I can rearrange my pokemon, etc. I know how to save the game, but I'd like to be able to rearrange pokemon for training purposes. Any ideas?

i use DeSmuME to play pokemon platinum, and everything works good, including AR codes (P.S i have found that some Ar codes cause the game to freeze), anyway back to my problem....

whenever i try to do a double pokemon battle with another trainer, the game freezes, it works fine when i am fighting two trainers by myself, but when i fight with another trainer it freezes..

like when you team up with Rowans Assistant in Veistone City it freezes it did the same thing with that Lady in Eterna Forest (i had to use the move anywhere ar code to get past it)

any help?

iPodFan would you ()#@ing pokemon players please describe the problem exactly? We dont know anything about pokemon. Literally hundreds of people complain about this but nobody can tell us anything coherent. I have high hopes for you: Did you SAVE while playing or use SAVE STATES? If you SAVED then there is not some problem with "desmume's save feature" but rather some bug that is pokemon specific that might be making a new game+ not work. Do you expect to be able to make a new game+ or do you expect to be able to load the old savefile in its condition just before the end? In that case, is the game supposed to be flagged in some way such that when you load your save file the game behaves differently? Sort of an old game+?

i am having the same problem with pokemon platinum. using windows vista 32bit, desume 0.94

desmume saves a .dsv file small as 8kb, but when i go into pokemon platinum load window it doesn't recognize the .dsv and it prompts to start the game again as new.

.dst files work though, i can load from there and .ds1 .ds2 files

i created a .sav using export battery but when importing nothing it back nothing happens.

this though won't be a problem until i get into elite four and new game + i could use save state to continue.

1. load the game and savestate

2. delete any dsv or sav file just to be safe.

3. config > save type > select the right savefile type (4mbit for pokemon) which is what you should have done to begin with

4. config > save type > FORCE AS CURRENT (thats the new hack). there is no feedback after you do this, it just magically works.

5. proceed to save in-game

6. exit emulator, reopen, and verify that you can load your ingame savefile

is the super rod supposed to be very hard to use ? whenever im fishing its always a guessing game on when to reel the rod, before i can even press the button to reel it in half a second later it says the pokemon got away. When playing the original platinum i dont remember the super rod being this hard to use ?

Yo I love this game alot, Same thing with Sacred Gold, Storm Silver, Blaze Black, and Volt White. I just Wish the added legendaries in these rom hacks had their original battle music, or atleast the regional legendary battle music, instead of the wild pokemon battle themes. Takes me out of the immersion.

Ok just gonna say a damn geodude with fire punch thunder punch and bulldoze for some damn reason killed my entire team of 6. They are all three levels higher than this fucking geodude. Giving pokemon moves like that really fucks the game..

Specifically, NARCArchive::readNitroFrames (from Universal Pokemon Randomizer) seems to fail on an arrayCopy call claiming something is out of bounds, but it seems to work fine on the base platinum ROM.

yeah none of dray's hacks are good with randomizers and it can really be an issue to do so (see game boy luke and patterz renegade platinum randomizer nuzlocke on youtube to know why) sufficed to say, you don't want to randomize the hack.

Para usar iluminar a caverna, basta fazer o seu pokemon usar Flash e sua visibilidade melhorar. Procure pelos itens na caverna.
