Welcome to the POG Wiki
Originated from the need for a lightweight, cheap to transport, coin alternative. Many overseas locations such as forward operating bases (FOBs) needed a physical token to give change in their base and post exchanges. This milkcap/POG variant was a practical solution. It also improved morale by encouraging friendly games among troops.
Capitalizing on the craze, Taco Bell (and other members of the Yum! Brands parent company) introduced these promotional POGs in the lead up to the very anticipated Star Wars: Episode I (The Phantom Menace) release.
