Privacy Policy Of PocketReceipt
Privacy Policy Of PocketReceipt
Last updated: March 25, 2025
1. Introduction
PocketReceipt (“the App”) is an offline expense tracker developed to help you record day‑to‑day spending without requiring an internet connection. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and how it is handled. By using PocketReceipt, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Data we process
2.1 Information you enter
The App stores the information you provide, such as expense amounts, categories, notes, and timestamps. This data is created only from your direct input inside the App.
2.2 Automatically collected data
PocketReceipt does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or usage telemetry for our purposes. The App does not include third‑party analytics or advertising SDKs as part of this design.
2.3 Permissions
The App requests only the permissions necessary for its core functionality on your device. It does not request access to your contacts, microphone, or camera for expense tracking.
3. How and where your data is stored
3.1 Local storage
All expense data is stored locally on your device using an on‑device database (Room/SQLite). Data remains on your phone or tablet unless you export it yourself or use device backup features provided by your operating system.
3.2 No central servers operated by us for your entries
PocketReceipt does not sync your expense entries to our servers, because we do not operate a cloud backend for your transaction content in this version of the App.
4. Offline operation
The App is designed to work offline. No network connection is required to add or view your expenses.
5. Backups and device transfers
Your device manufacturer or operating system may offer cloud backup (for example via Google’s Android backup). If enabled, encrypted backup copies of application data may be stored according to your Google/Android settings. PocketReceipt does not control those backup services; please review your device backup settings separately.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. Because expense entries stay on your device, we do not receive those entries and therefore cannot disclose them to third parties. If you choose to share exported files (for example by sending a screenshot or file through another app), that sharing is governed by the destination app or service you select.
7. Children’s privacy
PocketReceipt is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and it is not intended to collect personal information from children.
8. Data retention and deletion
Data persists on your device until you delete it. You can remove all expenses at any time using the “Clear all data” option in Settings. Uninstalling the App may also remove local data depending on your device settings.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical practices in the App’s implementation to protect local data integrity. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure. You should protect device access with a screen lock and keep your system updated.
10. International users
Where privacy laws apply in your region (for example the GDPR or UK GDPR), you can typically exercise rights such as access or erasure by deleting data inside the App or uninstalling it, because processing happens on your device.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the “Last updated” date and shipping updated in‑App text where applicable.
12. Contact
For privacy questions about PocketReceipt, contact the developer through the channel provided on the App’s store listing or official support page.
Summary
PocketReceipt keeps your expense entries on your device, works offline, and is not designed to upload your spending content to our servers in this version.
