Privacy Policy for PocketKit
Last updated: [8 May 2026]
This Privacy Policy describes how the PocketKit mobile application handles information when you use it. The app is developed and operated by AstronLab .
By installing or using PocketKit, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
PocketKit is designed to operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on our servers.
The app does not include any analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party SDKs that send data off-device.
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The app stores the following information only on your device, and never transmits it elsewhere:
Scan history: the values, formats, and timestamps of QR codes and barcodes you scan, saved in a local database.
App preferences: cached storage analysis results and user-interface settings, stored using local key-value storage.
You can delete this local data at any time by:
Using the in-app history controls (delete individual scans, clear all history)
Using the in-app cache controls (Cleaner → Clear app cache)
Uninstalling the app from your device
3. Device Permissions
PocketKit requests the following permissions strictly to provide its core features. These permissions are used only on your device, and the data accessed never leaves your device.
Permission
Why we use it
Camera
To scan QR codes and barcodes through the device camera. The camera feed is processed in real time and is not recorded or stored.
Photo and media access (Read media images / videos / audio; Read external storage)
To analyze the size and count of photos, videos, and audio on your device, and to identify potential duplicate photos. We only read this data on-device. We never upload it.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's system settings. The corresponding features in the app will be disabled until permission is restored.
4. Photo Deletion
When you choose to delete photos through the Cleaner feature, the app uses your device's standard system delete flow. The Android operating system displays its own confirmation dialog before any photo is deleted. We never delete photos silently or without your explicit confirmation.
5. Third-Party Services
PocketKit does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or cloud-storage services.
The app uses the following open-source libraries solely to provide on-device functionality. None of these libraries transmit personal data to us or to third parties:
mobile_scanner (barcode/QR scanning)
photo_manager (local photo metadata access)
sqflite, shared_preferences, path_provider (local data storage)
share_plus (system share sheet)
6. Sharing Scanned Content
The app provides a "Share" feature that uses your device's system share sheet to send scanned values to other apps you choose (for example, messaging apps, email, or notes). We do not control or receive a copy of what you share.
7. Children's Privacy
PocketKit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app operates entirely on-device and does not collect personal information from any user.
8. Data Security
Because all data stays on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your device (screen lock, OS-level encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device updated and using a strong screen lock.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest change. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
