This privacy policy governs your use of the Pocketfriend mobile application created by Lijo John J. Pocketfriend is designed as a privacy-first personal finance tracking application.
1. Data Collection (Google Sign-In)
Our app utilizes Google Sign-In for user authentication. When you log in, we only access basic profile information provided by Google, including your:

Unique User Identifier
We use this basic profile information solely for account creation, login authentication, and managing your user profile inside the app.
2. Sensitive Permissions & Local SMS Data Processing
To provide automated income and expense tracking, Pocketfriend requests access to sensitive SMS permissions (android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS and android.permission.READ_SMS).
Purpose: These permissions are used exclusively to detect and read incoming financial transactional SMS messages (such as bank alerts or credit card notifications) to automatically calculate and log your personal income and expenses.
On-Device Local Processing: All SMS reading and financial data parsing occurs 100% locally on your device.
Zero Transmission: Your SMS data, financial transaction history, and account balances are never collected, uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any external servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
No Third-Party Access: We do not track, share, sell, or disclose your SMS content or personal financial records to any third party.
3. Data Retention and Account Deletion
Because your financial and SMS data is stored strictly locally on your device, uninstalling the application or clearing the app's cache permanently deletes all stored expense records.
