Where is Pochalla?
Pochalla is in South Sudan on the border with Ethiopia. This region has experienced a lot of recent political unrest, and children in the region risk violence in their daily life and lack resources such as roads in their region. Pochalla Secondary School is the only school for children in the region, and it is the only way for the children to receive an education and hope for a better future.
Why Pochalla?
We all know that school is the light for human beings and for our life. We all know that where there is no school for children, there is no future for the children. Before there was a secondary school in Pochalla, South Sudan, children would travel to Gambella, Ethiopia, for class. The journey was very dangerous, and along the way, many children were mugged, abducted, and lost their lives. A secondary school in Pochalla allows children to receive an education safely.
I experienced this in my own life. After my mom died when I was 18, I lost support and dropped out of school. These experiences inspired me to think about other children who do not have support.
About Pochalla
Our community came together two years ago and agreed that we need to open a secondary school in Pochalla for our children. However, our challenge from the beginning was money. I am doing whatever I can to contribute to the school in Pochalla, but we need your support.
How can I help?
