What are our the goals for 2024 for our combined organizations (PLA and 30 Mile)?
To create LakeSmart teams on Pocasset.
30 Mile wants to support this ongoing work, linking together locally to help homeowners work to continue to work for the preservation of Pocasset Lake. We believe that through education, training, and local involvement we can work together to protect our beloved lake.
To help get the word out that 30 Mile is a LakeSmart HUB support center, offering training and more local technical support to our teams.
What we need from you?
We need you to let us know if you are interested in taking part in training to be a LakeSmart Evaluator. As a steward of Pocasset, you can help landowners to find ways to schedule informative site visits and learn more about potential ways to improve grades, add shoreline buffers, and plant live stakes to help reduce run-off and to curb threats to water quality
30 Mile employs a highly-trained staff and works to organize resources for volunteers so that we may help local watersheds like Pocasset's deliver professionally-designed and expertly managed outreach in your immediate vicinity. 30 Mile has trained evaluators within our organization, offering evaluations to landowners on lakes without an active team.
As Pocasset-area homeowners and conservationists alike, we should work to building capacity within our local volunteer network to protect one of this area’s most vital resources, our lakes, streams, and other waterways.
