Elliott Sober

Elliott Sober is the Hans Reichenbach Professor and William F. Vilas Research Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. In his most recent book, Ockham's Razors -- A User's Manual, Sober examines the role of Ockham's razor in scientific reasoning and considers whether the principle can be used to solve philosophical problems.

Diane Pataki

Diane Pataki is an ecologist studying the role of plants and soils in human-dominated and urban ecosystems. She is a professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Utah and principle investigator of the Urban Ecology Research Lab. She also holds adjunct appointments in the Department of City & Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah and the Ecology Center and Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning at Utah State University.
