Wireless Distributed/Federated Learning System 

A system which process learning using multiple devices in parallel over wireless channel.

Able to handle big data : Multiple devices participate in learning process and computing is done in parallel.

User data and privacy is kept safe : Data is not exchanged between devices; only the results of computing or models are exchanged between devices

Theoretical analysis on the performance of wireless distributed learning system : As wireless distributed learning system is a convergence of communication and computing systems, tradeoff between computing and communication should be characterized

Mitigating bottleneck of performance : It has been known that communication is a bottleneck of the performance of the system. It is necessary to develop efficient wireless communication scheme which increases the performance of the system.

Heterogeneity of capabilities and data : As multiple devices have their own data, the size and variety of data is different across the devices. Moreover, computing and communication capability is also various. To make the system practical, it is important to take this heterogeneity into account.

We aim to design optimal wireless distributed learning system in both aspect of communications and computations. We want to build wireless distributed learning system which resolves the problems described above. Based on the understanding of wireless communication and machine learning, fast, comprehensive study on design of secure and robust wireless distributed learning system is our goal.

Wireless Communications System

A system which communicates over wireless channel

We aims to figure out optimal design of wireless communications system. We study about relationship between many different factors in physical layer of OSI model. Furthermore, it is of our interest to figure out how physical part of communications system should be changed according to purpose of applications.

Wireless communications system is so huge and complex system. We are focusing on physical layer of wireless communications systems. From how to transmit/receive a signal to resource allocation, we cover broad area of wireless communication in the aspect of physical layer.

We study about 6G and beyond standard celluar communication systems as well as IEEE 802.11 standard also known as Wi-Fi.

Applications of IoT are one of our interested topics.
