Greetings Mortals
Hi! My name is Megan Begina, but you can call me Megan. I am a certified freelance makeup artist located in Hurst Texas. I graduated from a makeup college and had previous school at another makeup college in Burbank California. I am certified to do Beauty Makeup, Hairstyling, Airbrush & Body Paint, and Special Effects Makeup. My dream goal with my work is to share it with others and be known for my artistry and be known as a intricate makeup artist working on movies, TV shows, fashion shows, and more! I'm looking forward to collaborate and make your makeup ideas come to life!
I fell in love with makeup through many things:
It all started when my parents bought me my first face paint palette and I started creating from there! After getting my hands into face paint, my mom found the SYFY show Face Off. I was absolutely indulged in the show, by the fact of seeing how creative these artists were, and how easy it was for them to bring their ideas to life. I soon started working with special effects after seeing the first episode! Now, I grew up with a severe latex allergy, most, if not all makeup artists use latex, this bummed me out a bit thinking I wouldn't be able to do it. Luckily I was able to do some research and found that there were alternitives to latex in special effects! I started working with silicone, nose and scar wax and many others to reduce my contact with latex (I mostly only work with silicone now due to my allergy). I soon after started to dabble into beauty makeup as well as continuing my special effects work and my face paint work. After losing my mom in 2016 to ALS, I got into the makeup industry even more due to the fact that she loved seeing my work, so in her honor I continued my artistry. After highschool I applied for a makeup college in Burbank California, I learned more about beauty makeup, hair styling, and photoshoots with models. I barely got to start the special effects class due to COVID hitting in 2020 and everything being shut down, so I went home. In February of 2021, I started at a makeup college in Texas close to my hometown. I went through each class and each class was a learning process. I was so grateful for my support I had from my loved ones, I graduated and got my certification. Now I'm stepping foot into the world of the Makeup Industry and get my work out there!
