In this interactive session, Oscar Oviedo showcased the dynamic connection between Colombian folk music and Orff Schulwerk, guiding participants through original melodies, arrangements, and engaging classroom activities. Attendees practiced Latin rhythms, ostinatos, and pentatonic melodies while singing, playing, and moving, gaining strategies to teach with cultural sensitivity and joyful energy.
Our chapter members participated in many exciting ways at the 2024 Together We Grow AOSA Conference! We were also honored to receive the AOSA Wildflower Award, celebrating the growth and connections fostered within our community.

Led by Christina Reardon, participants engaged with classroom favorites, discovered how lessons can grow into performance pieces, and rekindled the joy of making music together.

In this workshop, Christa Jones shared practical strategies for supporting English Language Learners through creative play, discussion, and hands-on music-making. Drawing on a decade of experience teaching in schools with a high ELL population, she guided participants in building welcoming classrooms where every student feels engaged, affirmed, and ready to thrive.
The 2023 PNCC Chapter Share brought together educators for a day of collaboration, creativity, and hands-on music making. Members shared engaging lessons and activities designed to spark student joy, build musical skills, and encourage exploration across grade levels.
