Linda Rains

Linda is serving as a part-time PIMSER Numeracy Counts Math Leadership Coach (MLC). She brings a wealth of experience supporting principals in both current and past leadership roles, and we are excited to have them on board. She will be coaching five schools in Kentucky and supporting the work of Numeracy Counts. 

With over 36 years of dedicated service to Kentucky schools and educational nonprofits, Linda has cultivated a rich and diverse background in leadership, systems thinking, and community impact. Her career spans classrooms, districts, and statewide organizations, each shaped by her deep belief in perseverance, shared vision, and valuing every voice at the table.

Linda’s approach to systemic transformation is grounded in trust and collaboration. She has led rapid improvements in student outcomes by implementing high-impact strategies with clarity and precision, while always honoring the collective strength of the team. She believes sustainable success is never a solo endeavor—it emerges from strong systems, courageous leadership, and a community committed to growth.

Linda has established her professional career as a dedicated advocate for mathematics education, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting math literacy. Whether as a teacher, mathematics turnaround specialist, principal, or superintendent, she has championed math as a gateway to opportunity. Under her leadership, schools not only achieved some of the highest mathematics scores in the region and state, but also sustained those gains over time—transforming outcomes for students and strengthening communities alike.
