Dr. Kate Ariemma Marin is an Assistant Professor of Math Education at the University of Louisville. Prior to arriving at UofL, she taught elementary and middle school and served as a math coordinator in schools across Massachusetts, and was a faculty member at Stonehill College. 


Dr. Marin teaches mathematics education courses and co-coordinates the Elementary Math Specialist Program, where she supports the development of pre-service and in-service teachers. Her research interests are teachers’ development of Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching and generational differences in teachers. 


Dr. Marin is passionate about the Numeracy Counts work because she is committed to supporting teachers and administrators across the Commonwealth in order to ensure that all of Kentucky's children receive high-quality mathematics instruction and see themselves as math people.
