Dr. Jennifer Bay-Williams is the author of Math Fact Fluency and the Figuring out Fluency book series (an anchor book with 6 classroom companion books), the iconic Elementary and Middle School Mathematics: Teaching Developmentally, and many other books and articles. Jennifer is a leader in mathematics education, advocating for educators to redefine fluency and implement practices that are more effective in terms of learning and developing positive mathematics identities for our students. She has served on the board of directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and TODOS: Mathematics for ALL, and as president of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE). She is a popular speaker, working with organizations and districts across the U.S. and around the world. She has been on the faculty at the University of Louisville for 20 years, partnering with Kentucky schools and organizations to support effective mathematics teaching.
