Amy is the newest member of the PNCA2 design team. She brings over two decades of experience in public education, most recently serving as a principal in Pike County, Kentucky. She has led both a small elementary school (Bevins Elementary) and a large K–8 school (Mullins Elementary). With a deep passion for instructional leadership, Amy has spent her career focused on improving teaching and learning through professional development, coaching, and collaborative school culture.
Amy was part of the Kentucky Department of Education’s Coach Approach Pilot and is trained in Cognitive Coaching, which has shaped her approach to empowering educators through reflective practice and meaningful dialogue. She holds an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and Director of Pupil Personnel certification along with a Masters of Arts in Instructional Leadership and School Administration. Amy is an active member of the Kentucky Association for School Administrators (KASA) and she was the 2024 recipient of the KASA Spirt of the Leader: Kentucky Building Administrator of the Year award.
Now serving as a Numeracy Counts Coordinator with PIMSER, Amy supports principals and district leaders across the state in implementing the Kentucky Numeracy Act. She works closely with educators to strengthen K–5 mathematics instruction by building leadership capacity, supporting math-focused professional learning, and guiding implementation of the Numeracy Counts Administrator and Teacher Academies. Amy is also the Math Leadership Coach Director and has established a powerful team of coaches with the goal of building school-level leadership capacity and fostering overall mathematics improvement in our Kentucky schools.
Outside of her professional life, Amy is wife and mother of four (two daughters and two bonus sons). She is active in her church and is an Independent Mary Kay Sales Director. Amy is passionate about building strong relationships, serving others, and helping all students reach their full potential. She is very excited to step into this new role!
