Lexington A & B Cohorts
in Action
Our PNCA² leaders in Lexington came ready to engage, reflect, and lead with purpose during Day 6 of our in-person learning. Leaders engaged in deep work with EMTP shifts, unit internalization, and Chapter 7 of The Math Pact. Participants collaborated, problem-solved, and strengthened their leadership for mathematics teaching and learning.
We are especially proud of the way these leaders are thinking about how to take this work back to their schools to support teachers and improve outcomes for students.
This is what building a culture of mathematics learning looks like.
Bowling Green Cohort
Leading the Work!
Our Bowling Green PNCA² cohort brought incredible energy and focus to Day 6 of our in-person academy. Participants engaged in meaningful learning around EMTP shifts, unit internalization, and The Math Pact, working collaboratively to deepen their understanding and leadership of high-quality mathematics instruction.
The level of discussion, reflection, and commitment to improving math outcomes for students was evident throughout the day.
Strong leaders. Strong instruction. Strong outcomes!
Both our Lexington and Bowling Green cohorts gather in February for Day 5! We had strong conversations around HQIR implementation and our Academy “Big Rocks,” focusing on what it takes to support effective, aligned classroom practice. Our leaders consistently show up and show out session after session!
Fall Day 4 in Lexington
Our PNCA² leaders in Cohorts A & B came ready to learn, collaborate, and engage. From the Math Pact to representations, to intentional approaches for math fact fluency, to the effective math teaching practices and even digging into the “What’s It Worth?” routines. These sessions were full of meaningful, practical work! We love seeing our leaders engaged and fired up about taking the work back to their schools and districts.
Fall Day 4 in Bowling Green
Bowling Green brought the energy and the learning on Thursday!
We dug into Math Pact Chapter 5 and reviewed Chapter 4 on representations. We made connections to the EMTPs and SMPs. Participants also explored representations during “What’s It Worth?” Incredible conversations, thoughtful collaboration, and so many “aha” moments already.
Fall Day 3 in Lexington
Across two days, school leaders (185 to be exact) spent Day 3 of the Numeracy Counts Administrator Academy exploring how HQIRs support math learning, analyzing trends in math fact fluency, and building understanding of symbol sense through The Math Pact. The session also highlighted teacher learning in KCMNCA Module 2, giving administrators new insights to take back to their schools. Both sessions were held at the Campbell House Inn in Lexington.
Fall Day 3 in
Bowling Green
Day 3 in Bowling Green was marked by collaboration and rich discussion as leaders reflected on their own practices and connected them to the work happening in classrooms. Highlights included extending learning from earlier sessions, diving into strategies for developing symbol sense, and unpacking Module 2 of the KCMNCA. Leaders left with practical tools to strengthen math instruction in their districts.
