The pre-modern working group at Loyola University Chicago is comprised of faculty and researchers affiliated with the university who present working papers in a relaxed forum in the spirit of scholarly dialogue. "Pre-modern" is broadly defined chronologically, geographically, and topically, such that past presenters have hailed from diverse disciplines such as the departments of History, Theology, Classical Studies, Philosophy, English, and History. We are generously sponsored by the Center for Research in International Affairs at Loyola (https://www.luc.edu/cria/). For Academic Year 2025-2026, the group's conveners are Olivia Stewart Lester (Theology) and Jenn Finn (Classical Studies).
