The Musa Mohamad Engineering Campus Library of Universiti Sains Malaysia, established in 1986, has long been a cornerstone of academic support for the university community. The Engineering Campus was first located in Seri Iskandar, Perak, where it was known as the Universiti Sains Malaysia (Perak Branch Campus). After 15 years of operation (1986–2001), the campus was relocated to its current site at Kampus Kejuruteraan USM, Transkrian, Nibong Tebal, Pulau Pinang, and has since grown into a thriving hub of knowledge and innovation.
Today, the library serves more than thousands of students, academics, and researchers, particularly supporting the academic and research needs of the six engineering schools in Aerospace, Civil, Chemical, Electrical & Electronic, Materials and Mineral Resources & Mechanical Engineering.
The library offers extensive print and digital collections, including books, journals, and scholarly databases, alongside information literacy programmes, research consultations, and academic support services to strengthen users’ ability to discover, evaluate, and apply information effectively.
Equipped with modern facilities such as computer labs, collaborative learning spaces, and Makerspace, the library nurtures creativity, interdisciplinary learning, and innovation. With the dedication of its professional staff, the Musa Mohamad Engineering Campus Library continues to advance USM’s mission of academic excellence, while shaping future engineers, scholars, and leaders.
