If you want a dedicated swimming solution that keeps your ears safe and dry while letting you hear the pool deck, choose Pmjebe Bone Conduction Swimming; if you need a playful, compact accessory for casual listening with deep bass at the gym or on the bus, choose Generic Frog Earbuds.
• Pmjebe Bone Conduction Swimming: Its biggest strength is the IP68 waterproof rating allowing full submersion up to 5 meters for 24 hours, making it the only true choice for lap swimming. The trade-off is an open-ear design that prioritizes situational awareness over noise isolation, which some might find less immersive in loud environments. This pick is for serious swimmers and outdoor athletes who need to stay aware of their surroundings.
• Generic Frog Earbuds: Its biggest strength is the adorable, novelty frog design combined with a portable charging case that offers convenience for daily commutes and gym sessions. The trade-off is a standard IPX4 rating that only resists splashes and sweat, meaning they cannot be submerged in water. This pick is for users looking for a fun fashion statement or a reliable pair of buds for land-based workouts.
The Pmjebe bone conduction headset is engineered specifically for the aquatic athlete. Unlike traditional earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, this device uses open-ear technology that rests against the cheekbone. This design allows sound to travel through vibration directly to the inner ear while leaving the ear canal completely open. For someone training in a pool, this is a game-changer because it eliminates the pressure and discomfort often associated with wet in-ear devices. You can swim laps without worrying about water getting trapped in your ears, which helps keep them cool and healthy even after long, sweaty sessions.
The durability of this unit is its most defining feature. With an IP68 professional waterproof rating, these headphones are built to withstand being fully submerged. The data confirms they can handle depths up to 5 meters for up to 24 hours. This level of protection goes far beyond simple sweat resistance. Whether you are diving off a dock or doing high-intensity interval training in the water, the plastic enclosure and sealed construction ensure the electronics remain protected. If your primary goal is to listen to music while actually swimming, no other category of earbuds comes close to this capability.

Beyond the water, the Pmjebe S8-US model is designed for safety during high-movement activities like running, cycling, or using a skateboard. Because the ear canal remains open, you can hear passing vehicles or conversations while enjoying your playlist. This is crucial for anyone who considers "ear clip headphones for gym" or outdoor cardio sessions where awareness is as important as motivation. The lightweight construction, weighing just 1 ounce, ensures that the soft silicone frame does not dig into your head during intense training. If you value a secure fit that stays put whether you are sprinting or floating, this is the tool for you.
However, you should skip this product if you are looking for total silence or heavy noise cancellation. Since the design is open-ear by nature, there is no active noise control. You will hear the world around you, which is great for safety but means you won't get the immersive, isolated experience of a sealed earbud. Additionally, while the 16mm drivers deliver clear vocals and rich bass, the bass response will naturally differ from in-ear models due to the bone conduction mechanism. If your priority is blocking out the gym noise to focus entirely on the beat, this might feel too exposed.
The Generic Frog Earbuds take a different approach, focusing on style and portability for everyday life. These wireless in-ear headphones feature a charming animal shape that turns a tech accessory into a conversation starter. They are ideal for kids, teens, or adults who enjoy adding a bit of personality to their gear. Instead of blending in with standard black or white buds, these stand out as a fun fashion statement. The design is sleek enough for daily use but distinct enough to show your sense of humor or love for novelty gadgets.
For gym-goers who prefer a classic in-ear fit, these earbuds offer a comfortable way to lock in audio. The silicone material ensures a snug fit on the ear, which helps keep them stable during moderate movement. While they lack the underwater capabilities of bone conduction, they do carry an IPX4 waterproof rating. This means they can handle sweat and rain without issue, making them suitable for a standard weightlifting session or a jog on a rainy day. However, this rating is strictly for splash resistance; if you plan to swim, these are not the right tool for the job.
Sound quality is another area where these earbuds aim to impress. They utilize high-performance drivers designed to deliver deep bass and balanced mids. For those seeking the best gaming headphones for gym sessions or simply wanting an immersive soundtrack for their workout, the in-ear seal helps project sound directly into the ear canal. This creates a more focused listening environment compared to open-ear designs. The inclusion of a portable charging case extends the battery life significantly, allowing you to carry extra power in your pocket or bag. This makes them excellent companions for long days away from home, whether you are studying, commuting, or traveling.
Despite their appeal, these earbuds have limitations for serious athletes. The IPX4 rating is the ceiling for their water resistance. You cannot submerge them, so a sudden dip in a lake or a heavy downpour could potentially damage them. Furthermore, the novelty design might not appeal to everyone; if you prefer a discreet, professional look, the frog shape may feel too casual. They are best suited for users who prioritize aesthetics and basic durability over extreme environmental resilience. If you need a reliable pair of usb c charging earphones for gym sessions that involve sweating but not swimming, these are a solid, stylish choice.

I would buy the Pmjebe Bone Conduction Swimming if my primary goal was to train in the water or run outdoors safely. The ability to swim with music while keeping my ears open to the environment is a feature I simply cannot live without for serious fitness. In contrast, I would choose the Generic Frog Earbuds only if I wanted a fun, disposable-style pair for short walks or casual listening at the gym where water exposure isn't a factor. For a dedicated workout routine that includes swimming, the Pmjebe is the superior investment. If you are looking for ear clip headphones for gym sessions that also double as swim gear, the Pmjebe is the clear winner.
No, the Generic Frog Earbuds only have an IPX4 rating, which protects against sweat and splashes but does not allow for submersion in water. You must use the Pmjebe for any swimming activity.
Yes, the Pmjebe Bone Conduction Swimming headphones include a built-in 8GB MP3 player, allowing you to store up to 3000 songs and play them directly from the device without needing a Bluetooth connection to a phone.
They are designed with a silicone in-ear fit that provides stability for moderate activity. However, they are not rated for the same level of sweat and water exposure as the Pmjebe, so they are better suited for land-based gym sessions rather than intense, high-sweat endurance training.
Both products offer decent audio, but the Pmjebe focuses on clarity and safety with bone conduction, while the Generic Frog Earbuds emphasize deep bass and vocal balance through their in-ear drivers. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize hearing your surroundings or feeling the bass.
