PMBB lab focuses on molecular breeding, genomics and bioinformatics to improve crop traits for better productivity.
Our current work includes -
Diversity and population structure analysis of available melon accessions
Assessment of melon pre-breeding materials to identify germplasms with local adaptability
Selection of superior melon lines from segregating population through morphmetric and marker assisted evaluation
Genome-wide characterization of transcription factor genes to predict putative genes for important traits
Recently, we genotyped onions from local germplasms and mutant lines to screen male sterile and maintainer lines. Additionally, we investigated salinity tolerance in rice through morpho-physiological and transcriptomic analyses, aiming to develop resilient genotypes for challenging environments.
