Committee Topics - Fun!
1) Intermediate (Security Council) - American Civil War
The United Nations Security council, conducting an emergency meeting on the (hypothetical) ongoing collapse of the leader of the free world. Create the story in this highly theoretical situation, find solutions, choose sides, and navigate the crisis.
2) Beginner (UNHCR) - Venezuelan Refugee Crisis
The Venezuelan Refugee Crisis has many different conflicting viewpoints and ideologies that limit the United Nations effectiveness at finding solutions. Nations disagree or maybe ignore the crisis. Research the history and viewpoints to find solutions.
3) Online (WHO) - Bird Flu
Avian Influenza, H5N1, has spread across the world and has killed well over 300 million birds. The damage to the economy is worrying and is only getting worse. One infection can shut a whole farm down. As the virus continues to spread, it continues to make the jump to humans. So far, it's not infectious enough to be dangerous to people, but with how widespread it is a mutation is very possible. Find solutions to this problem
