Trying to build a simple media player juce application in Linux, that has start, stop, and pause buttons and can play common video file containers, such avi, mp3/mp4, ogg. I saw the lack of quicktime support for Linux.

After some research, I discovered that I can easily build a media player using LibVLC - How do I embed the libvlc media player into a juce component, so that the media player draws centered within the juce component window?

IS this possible? My mate is a DJ and pays for your app and when ever any one requests a song, he plays it via spotify. He doesn't download nor copy any of this data, he simply plays it and thats what i want to be able to do.

The Media Player Codec Pack is not a media player itself but it does install into your media player and may act as a major update. The codecs allow a media player to play files with almost every compression type and file type (audio/visual file types). If your media player is unable to play certain files then installing this codec pack could be just what you need.

The Media Player Codec Pack is not a standard codec pack that contains features you may see in your next media player update. It is a collection of specially curated codecs that may dramatically expand the usefulness of your media player. The Media Player Codec Pack is also handy if you have not updated your media player in a long while and you are now experiencing problems with video and audio files you are trying to play. The codecs may remove some of the issues you are having with modern video and audio files.

Has anyone actually found a resolution to this problem... I have been having this for the past couple of months. It is not a PC, or PC Firewall issue. It is either an Actiontec, or Fios network issue. I have 5 PC's in the house all with the same issue, with different versions of Windows. This use to work, so i'm not sure what changed. I tried a simple test with a laptop as well. Could not connect using local wireless, but attached to my neighbors wireless and was able to make the connection. While the stream was playing i was able to disconnect & re-connect to my local wireless. The stream stopped briefly, but then re-connected and kept going. Once I closed media player and restarted it, I was not able to re-establish the connection. Also, of note, VLC seems to stream the site fine.
