Welcome to Plucky Strings!
Hi! I'm Emily White, a musician in San Antonio, Texas. I began playing instruments at the age of five starting with the piano, and since then I branched into stringed instruments and have never met one I didn't like. I focused intensely on harp for a number of years, and I've played with a variety of chamber ensembles, providing music for weddings, receptions, special events, and concerts.
I graduated with a B.A. in Music from Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey in 2016. In 2020, I completed a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Educational Technology at Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi. I've also received Certificates of Distinction in Practical Examinations and Theory from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in Great Britain. I studied with harpist Brieta Allison, who was a student of the renowned Cleveland Orchestra harpist and Oberlin College teacher, Alice Chalifoux.
My current instrument collection includes piano, harp, violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, bass guitar, hammered dulcimer, mandolin, ukulele, and random percussion. I also love to sing.
