If you want a lightweight, versatile headset with dual connectivity options and native Microsoft Teams integration for a mobile work-from-home setup, choose PLT Poly; if you need a robust, certified Teams solution with dedicated hardware buttons and passive noise cancellation for a stationary office desk, choose Yealink 1308134.
• PLT Poly: The standout strength is its ultra-lightweight 55-gram design and dual USB-A/USB-C connectivity that future-proofs your setup, but the trade-off is the lack of active noise cancellation features compared to heavier competitors. This pick is for the remote worker who needs portability and seamless switching between devices.
• Yealink 1308134: The clear winner here is its dedicated Microsoft Teams certification with a physical answer button and ActiveProtection technology, though it relies solely on a wired USB-A connection which limits mobility. This pick is for the professional who spends long hours in a fixed office environment and prioritizes call clarity and ear safety.
The PLT EncorePro 525-M is built around the concept of seamless movement. At just 55 grams, this headset feels almost invisible when worn, a critical factor for anyone who wears headphones for extended periods while working from home or moving between rooms. The design features an over-the-head style with dual ear placement, ensuring that the weight is distributed evenly across the top of your head rather than clamping down on your ears. This specific engineering choice makes it an excellent candidate for those seeking the best headphones for vlogging sessions where comfort is paramount during long recording marathons. If you are creating content that requires you to wear audio gear for hours without fatigue, the low mass of this unit is a genuine advantage.
Connectivity is where this model truly shines for the modern hybrid worker. Unlike many headsets that lock you into a single port type, this unit comes with both USB-A and USB-C connectors right on the cable. You can plug directly into older desktops or newer laptops and tablets without needing dongles or adapters. This flexibility supports a workflow where you might switch between a desktop monitor and a laptop on the go. Furthermore, the inclusion of Bluetooth 4.0 allows for wireless pairing with mobile devices, adding another layer of versatility that static wired headsets simply cannot match.
For the vlogger or content creator, the acoustic hearing protection feature is a significant selling point. The headset manages safe volume levels to protect your hearing over time, which is essential when monitoring audio mixes or listening to reference tracks for long durations. The in-line controls include hold and call answer buttons, making it easy to manage communications without reaching for your computer. However, there is a distinct trade-off regarding noise isolation. While it offers a comfortable seal, it does not feature active noise cancellation technology. If you work in a very noisy household with loud appliances or construction nearby, the sound leakage might be more noticeable than with heavier, insulated models. Additionally, the touch control method requires a learning curve; some users prefer tactile buttons over touch interfaces, especially when wearing gloves or in cold environments.

You should skip this product if you require a heavy-duty, industrial-grade build for harsh industrial environments or if you strictly need active noise cancellation to block out loud background chatter in a busy open-plan office. It is also less ideal if you only have legacy USB-A ports and do not mind carrying extra cables, as the dual-port design is most useful when you have mixed device types.
The Yealink UH35 Dual Teams USB Wired Headset is engineered for one thing: reliability in a Microsoft Teams ecosystem. As a certified headset, it guarantees that the software recognizes the hardware immediately upon plugging it in, eliminating the driver installation headaches that plague many third-party peripherals. The design focuses on durability and professional utility, featuring a sturdy plastic enclosure and an over-ear shape that provides passive noise cancellation. This passive isolation helps reduce ambient noise naturally, creating a quieter environment for both the user and the people they speak with. The two noise-canceling microphones are particularly effective at filtering out background distractions, ensuring that your voice comes through clearly on every call.
Audio quality is a major focus for this model. It utilizes dual 35 mm speakers to deliver HD audio quality, which translates to rich, balanced sound for music, video conferencing, and content consumption. The ActiveProtection technology is a standout feature for professionals who spend their entire workday on calls. This system actively monitors and limits volume levels to prevent long-term hearing damage, a crucial consideration for anyone using the device as their primary headphone for vlogging or daily communication. The physical design includes a busylight indicator, allowing coworkers to see your status at a glance, which fosters better collaboration in shared spaces. The 1.5-meter USB cable provides ample reach for a standard desk setup, connecting securely to your computer via a standard USB-A jack.
A key differentiator for the Yealink is the dedicated Teams button located directly on the earphone. This allows you to answer calls with a single press, streamlining your workflow and reducing the number of times you need to interact with your keyboard or mouse. For a vlogger setting up a studio desk, this physical interaction can feel more natural and responsive than software-based controls. However, the reliance on a wired USB-A connection is a significant limitation for mobile use cases. You are tethered to your computer, and the cable length restricts how far you can move away from your workstation. There is no Bluetooth capability, meaning you cannot pair this headset with a smartphone or tablet for calls on the go.
You should skip this product if you need a headset that can easily transition between multiple devices without re-plugging, or if you prioritize wireless freedom. It is also not suitable for users who frequently change computers with different port configurations, as it lacks a USB-C option. If you require active noise cancellation to completely silence a chaotic environment, the passive nature of this headset might not be sufficient, though the dual microphones do help mitigate external noise effectively.
• Best for battery-free reliability → Yealink 1308134 (wired connection ensures zero downtime).
• Best for multi-device mobility → PLT Poly (Bluetooth + USB-A/C support).
• Best for Microsoft Teams certification → Yealink 1308134 (native integration with one-touch answering).
• Best for lightweight comfort → PLT Poly (55g weight vs. 7.2 ounces for Yealink).
• Best for hearing safety tech → Both offer protection, but Yealink emphasizes ActiveProtection for long-term use.
• Best for passive noise isolation → Yealink 1308134 (dual speaker design and ear cup shape).
• Best for modern port compatibility → PLT Poly (includes USB-C natively).
• Best for stationary desk work → Yealink 1308134 (busylight and dedicated buttons).
When deciding between these two, consider your primary environment. If your workspace is dynamic, with frequent transitions between sitting at a desk, walking around the house, or working from a coffee shop, the PLT Poly offers the necessary adaptability. Its ability to handle both USB-A and USB-C connections means you won't need to fumble with adapters when your setup changes. On the other hand, if your life revolves around a single desk where you conduct hours of video conferences and create content, the Yealink 1308134 provides a more specialized experience. The physical buttons and busylight create a dedicated station feel that enhances productivity in a fixed location.
Another critical factor is the type of audio processing you need. The Yealink's dual noise-canceling microphones are specifically tuned for voice clarity in professional settings, making it superior for business calls. The PLT Poly, while capable, focuses more on general acoustic protection and ease of use across various platforms. For a vlogger, the decision often comes down to whether you value the ability to move freely (Poly) or the stability and specific call features of a wired setup (Yealink).
In my opinion, I would buy the Yealink 1308134 for serious vlogging and professional content creation. While the PLT Poly is incredibly light and convenient, the Yealink's dedicated Teams button, superior microphone array, and ActiveProtection technology provide a more stable and professional foundation for long-form recording. The wired connection ensures consistent audio quality without the anxiety of battery management or Bluetooth interference, which is vital when capturing high-quality audio for your audience. If you are looking for the best headphones for vlogging that prioritize audio fidelity and call reliability over wireless mobility, this is the superior choice.
Both headsets are designed for broad compatibility. The PLT Poly works with USB-A and USB-C ports found on most modern Macs and PCs, while the Yealink 1308134 uses a standard USB-A connection that plugs into virtually any computer running Windows or macOS.
The Yealink 1308134 has a slight edge due to its dual noise-canceling microphones and over-ear design designed for passive noise cancellation. The PLT Poly lacks active noise cancellation features, so it may let more ambient sound in during loud recording sessions.
Yes, the PLT Poly comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, offering peace of mind for long-term use. The Yealink 1308134 is built for professional durability, though specific warranty terms should be verified against the current product packaging.
While both are optimized for work and communication, the PLT Poly's Bluetooth capability makes it slightly more versatile for casual gaming on consoles or mobile devices. The Yealink is strictly wired and focused on professional VoIP and Teams usage, making it less ideal for multi-platform gaming setups.
