If you want a robust, dual-ear headset with native Microsoft Teams integration and acoustic hearing protection for long shifts, choose PLT Poly; if you need a lightweight, monaural earset with active noise cancellation and modern Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity for a mobile warehouse environment, choose Hewlett HP Poly Voyager. This isn't a debate about which device is universally superior; it is a decision between two distinct design philosophies tailored to different ways of working on the floor.
• PLT Poly (EncorePro 525-M): Its greatest strength lies in its dual-ear over-head design that prioritizes acoustic hearing protection and dedicated call management buttons, but it trades off mobility due to its wired USB connection and heavier physical footprint.
• Hewlett HP Poly Voyager (Legend 50-M): Its biggest advantage is the freedom of wireless Bluetooth 5.4 range up to 98.4 feet combined with an ultra-lightweight mono earset design, yet it sacrifices broad-spectrum audio fidelity by focusing strictly on voice frequencies.
• Who each pick is for: The PLT Poly is built for stationary or semi-mobile workers who need to block out ambient noise while taking constant calls, whereas the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager fits the fast-moving associate who needs hands-free communication without the bulk of a full headset.
The PLT Poly EncorePro 525-M is engineered specifically for the employee who spends hours tethered to a workstation or a laptop, often in a cloud communications setup. The design centers on a dual-ear wearing style that covers both ears completely, creating a natural barrier against the chaotic sounds of a busy warehouse or office. This isn't just about comfort; it is about safety. In a warehouse setting where machinery hums and pallet jacks beep, this passive isolation helps prevent hearing fatigue over a ten-hour shift.
What sets this unit apart for the serious professional is the inclusion of dedicated hardware buttons right on the cable for holding and answering calls. You do not need to fumble with a phone screen or rely solely on touch controls that might be missed when gloved up. The integration with Microsoft Teams is also a standout feature, offering a native experience accessed directly from the inline control. If your warehouse operations rely heavily on Teams for coordination, this headset removes the friction of navigating software menus. The presence of both USB-A and USB-C connectors ensures compatibility across a wide range of computers, making it a versatile tool for someone who might switch between a desktop terminal and a tablet dock.

However, this headset demands a specific workflow. It relies on a physical cable for its primary connectivity, meaning your movement radius is limited to the length of that cord. While it does mention Bluetooth 4 as a style attribute, the core utility described emphasizes the wired USB connection for stable, low-latency communication. If you are constantly walking aisles, running to the shipping dock, or moving between stations, this tether can become a hindrance. Furthermore, the weight, listed at 55 grams, combined with the over-the-head structure, might feel heavy during extended periods of continuous wear compared to lighter alternatives. It is best suited for the worker who stays relatively close to their desk or computer terminal, prioritizing audio clarity and hearing safety over total freedom of movement.
In contrast, the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager Legend 50-M is designed for the agile worker who cannot afford to be tied down. This is a monaural earset, meaning it rests behind one ear with a single earbud, leaving the other ear open to hear ambient warehouse sounds like approaching forklifts or safety alarms. This openness is a deliberate design choice for environments where situational awareness is non-negotiable. The device leverages Bluetooth 5.4 technology, pushing the boundaries of wireless range to 98.4 feet. This specification alone makes it a compelling option for large distribution centers where you might walk from the receiving bay all the way to the packing station without dropping a signal.
The most significant technical differentiator here is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) paired with a frequency range tuned specifically for voice, spanning from 300 Hz to 3,400 Hz. Unlike the PLT Poly, which aims for a full audio spectrum, this unit focuses on isolating human speech from background noise. In a loud warehouse, this ensures that your supervisor's instructions or a customer's query cuts through the din clearly. The use of a Balanced Armature Driver further refines this voice-centric performance, delivering crisp dialogue even in high-decibel zones. The weight is substantial at 7.36 ounces, but because the design distributes this mass behind the ear rather than over the head, it feels less intrusive during long shifts.
This headset is ideal for the "gaming headphones for warehouse work" crowd who actually need a reliable comms tool, or anyone looking for a with mic bluetooth headset for warehouse work that allows them to move freely. The voice control method mentioned in the specs suggests a hands-free approach to managing calls, which is essential when your hands are busy loading boxes or scanning barcodes. However, the trade-off is clear: the narrow frequency range means music or non-voice audio will sound thin. It is not designed for entertainment or full-spectrum media consumption; it is a pure communication tool. If you need to hear the world around you while staying connected, this is the logical choice.
• Best for battery life and mobility → Hewlett HP Poly Voyager, thanks to its 98.4-foot wireless range and Bluetooth 5.4 capability that lets you roam the facility without cables.
• Best for hearing protection and isolation → PLT Poly, utilizing its dual-ear over-head design to physically block out distractions and manage safe volume levels effectively.
• Best for Microsoft Teams integration → PLT Poly, offering native access to Teams features via dedicated inline buttons rather than relying on general Bluetooth pairing.
• Best for voice clarity in noisy areas → Hewlett HP Poly Voyager, leveraging Active Noise Cancellation and a voice-tuned frequency range (300 Hz - 3,400 Hz) to isolate speech.
• Best for multi-device flexibility → PLT Poly, featuring both USB-A and USB-C connectors for immediate plug-and-play functionality with various terminals.
• Best for situational awareness → Hewlett HP Poly Voyager, as the monaural behind-the-ear design keeps one ear open to hear safety alerts and machinery.
• Best for long-shift comfort (stationary) → PLT Poly, provided you stay near your workstation, as the over-head clamping force offers secure stability without the risk of falling out.
• Best for hands-free operation while moving → Hewlett HP Poly Voyager, with its voice control methods and lack of tethers allowing true multitasking.
For the specific context of warehouse work, I would buy the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager. While the PLT Poly offers excellent hearing protection and deep software integration, the reality of a warehouse floor is constant motion. The 98.4-foot wireless range and the monaural design that keeps one ear open for safety are far more practical assets than the tethered security of the PLT Poly. In my opinion, the ability to walk the aisles while maintaining crystal-clear voice isolation via Active Noise Cancellation outweighs the benefit of the dual-ear seal. You need a best gaming headphones for warehouse work solution that prioritizes safety and mobility above all else, and the Voyager delivers exactly that with its modern Bluetooth 5.4 architecture.
Yes, both are designed for such conditions. The PLT Poly uses physical over-ear isolation and acoustic protection to manage volume, while the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager employs Active Noise Cancellation and voice-specific frequency tuning to cut through the noise.
No, the primary connectivity described is USB-A and USB-C via a cable. While Bluetooth 4 is listed in the style details, the core functionality relies on the wired connection for Teams integration and call management, limiting your movement radius.
It supports Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio, but the frequency response (300 Hz - 3,400 Hz) is optimized strictly for voice communication, so the audio quality for music or media will be significantly reduced compared to full-range speakers.
Both include microphones, but the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager is explicitly tuned for voice isolation with ANC, likely providing clearer speech transmission in high-noise zones, whereas the PLT Poly relies on general dynamic drivers and physical isolation.
