About the artis, Practice and vision
I am Christina Savvatianou, aka Plektani ART, and paraxeno daimonio on the internet, a visual multidisciplinary artist based in Greece. My work lives at the intersection of imperfection, emotion, and transformation always evolving and altering reality with all means I have.
My practice is rooted in a belief that art should uncover the hidden narratives of life — the stories of resistance, resilience, joy, sorrow, and complexity that so often go unseen. It begins with movement. In my abstract motion photography, I use slow shutter speed, intentional camera movement, blur glitch and distortion not as flaws, but as language. The camera becomes brush, light becomes ink. Imperfection is not accidental—it is alive. Chaos is not noise—it is rhythm.
In painting, textiles, and digital art, I carry the same logic: the mark that trembles, the thread that unravels, the pixel that fractures. I flirt with surrealism and abstraction, the world seen sideways, the world seen at night, the world seen through a sigh. I draw on the spirit of Neo-Expressionism and Art Informel, borrowing from glitch aesthetics, cyberpunk form, and the geometry of ruin.
Motion made visible, light made language. I blur, shake, and stitch the world into abstraction—a pulse of imperfection, ritual, and care.
I am working across art photography, painting, textile creations, and digital art. Since 1986, I have been a freelance art photographer and member of the Hellenic Photographic Society (EFE), participating in numerous competitions and exhibitions both in Greece and internationally. Member of AthensArt Designers Group since 2019 (curator for the International Artworks Selection Committee & participant). After 16 years in advertising photography, I turned fully to artistic expression.
My most recognized work is in abstract motion photography, a form where intentional camera movement and slow shutter techniques become a language of gesture and presence. In these images, blur and distortion are not errors but expressive elements: unpolished, raw, and emotionally charged. Light becomes both subject and movement, creating visual rhythms that transcend technical perfection and invite the viewer into something deeper.
These works evoke melancholy, resistance, and resilience — colliding motion and stillness to reveal hidden narratives of the human condition, where beauty emerges from chaos, fragmentation, and hardship.
Influenced by Neo-Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, Art Informel, glitch aesthetics, cyberpunk visuals, and the structural ruptures of Brutalism, I extend this intuitive, emotionally-led approach into physical and digital painting. Marks tremble, forms dissolve, and saturated colors fracture urban and natural landscapes into visual essays of struggle, transformation, and survival.
AI lately serves as an exploratory tool in selective works — enhancing rather than replacing spontaneity — supporting intuition rather than directing it. These AI-assisted explorations have been presented in digital contexts including Beeple Studios (2024), curated Web3 platforms such as Objkt and Teia, and community-driven exhibition spaces connected to the Tezos ecosystem.
My artistic vision is inseparable from my commitment to social engagement. I actively participate in community-based initiatives and decentralized platforms like Teia, contributing to projects such as the Breadfond contract #ArtForArtists: Supporting lesser-known and emerging artists through collective NFT projects..
Through my work, I advance accessibility, equity, and solidarity, using art as a tool for social change. My practice is often connected to causes such as #TezQuakeAid (earthquake relief) and #Tez4Pal (aid for children affected by the war in Palestine), and Art for Humanity Palestine, Stop fires in Patagonia (in aid of families from Epuyen, Patagonia victims of the wildfires), demonstrating that creation and activism can coexist in every brushstroke, thread, and luminous trail.
My creative process rejects rigid discipline in favor of organic spontaneity. This emotional spontaneity — whether in motion photography, painting, or digital manipulation — is a deliberate choice to honor sensation over polish, memory over documentation. My work does not capture reality as it is, but reveals what often goes unseen: the contradictions of life and the emotional landscapes we carry within.
Textile abstractions and crochet (discovered in 2010) add layers of tactile, organic expression — threads that hold both wound and bloom — though these still remain outside my NFT practice.
During the pandemic, I have participated in online exhibitions including 100 Photos (Berlin) and various online shows organized by the Greek art community.
Participated in physical exhibitions including the most recent Dream On with four photographs at Tsichritzis Foundation, Kifissia, June 2021, Kunstmatrix 100 Photos in Berlin (2020), Arcrush Gallery debut (Brussels, 2024), Beeple Event (May 2024), TEZCON at Seattle (2024/2025), NewtoART exhibition in Argentina (2025), IIn the Teia curation "Unique Ingredients" showcased in Berlin (2025), Part of #objktnyc2025 mobile exhibition in New York (2025) .
In Web3 since November 2021 on Tezos, I mint motion photographs, visual poems, and digital works — embracing blockchain for accessibility, equity, and solidarity. Active in @teztones, @WOMENverse101 (Lovelace Scholarship recipient for web development), @TeiaArt, @SkullDegenClub_, Tezos Artist Network, 23artcollective, This is a Raid, The Tezos Community (TTC), Invisible Chicks. and more.
My art interrogates rather than documents reality. It demands presence, turns imperfection into a portal of meaning, and connects through empathy and resistance. To feel is to resist. To see is to connect. To create is to survive.
