I have always combined abstract elements with figurative narratives in my paintings. My latest work is done using soft pastels on wood panels. This series is called "Youth and Innocence" and is meant to evoke both.
Most of my work depicts local scenes and events and I find the experience satisfying, sometimes intense and almost always fun. Art classes and workshops help me through my perpetual apprenticeship, still, I make my share of mistakes as part of the learning process. I work in oil, watercolor and acrylic paints.
For many years I ran a business creating custom murals, architectural and trompe l'oiel stenciling and painting, faux bois, faux marbre, custom finishes for walls and furniture. Now that I'm retired I have the time to explore more relaxed forms of painting and art-making such as plein air!

I love serendipitously painting with others, be it a mural with children or plein air with enthusiastic painters of all ages. It’s like capturing a dance with canvas, colors, and brush. Watching the light change over the few hours we paint is mesmerizing and so good for us!
